The "Fukuoka Asian Art Museum": The Only Museum in the World Dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Asian Art
Opened in 1999, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum is a unique museum in the world, specializing in the collection and exhibition of modern and contemporary Asian art. Through a collection of over 5,000 works, visitors can enjoy encountering diverse artistic cultures from 23 Asian countries and regions.

A Space for Art and Intellectual Exploration
The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, which inherited the activities of the Fukuoka City Museum of Art, was opened in 1999. It is the only museum in the world that systematically collects and exhibits modern and contemporary Asian art.
Artworks from South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and other regions are displayed, conveying the charm of art that transcends time and regional boundaries.
At the art cafe, which boasts about 10,000 art-related books, visitors can freely browse books on art and culture, and enjoy a comfortable space to casually engage with art.
At "MUSEUM CAFE by IENA COFFEE", visitors can enjoy a special coffee break while reading art books or looking over the streets of Tenjin. There is a wide selection of drinks on the menu, including the rare "Kopi Luwak Coffee" and Japanese black tea.
The museum also has a kids' space.
The museum also holds events in conjunction with exhibitions, such as "Storytelling of Asian Picture Books and Kamishibai."
