Miyajidake Shrine, renowned for its “Path of Light” and Japan's largest shimenawa rope, hosts the Setsubun Festival. The bean-throwing ritual, practiced since the Muromachi period, remains deeply rooted in daily life as a vital seasonal observance.

Miyajidake Shrine also refers to this ritual as the “Fortune-Inviting Bean-Throwing Ceremony.” On February 2nd, 3rd, and every Sunday during the Misogi Purification Period, individuals facing unlucky ages, along with the Year's Male and Female Representatives, don formal ceremonial attire called “kamishimo.” They chant “Fortune, come in!” while scattering lucky beans.
