A gathering of some of the best brewers of sake Kyushu and Japan have to offer! 21 breweries from Kyushu, and 17 from other places in Japan will assemble at Hakata Station!

Various producers of sake, wine, and beer will be showcasing some of their choicest products, and there will even be some drinks exclusive to the event as well! At the Kyushu Sakagura Biraki event the brewers of the finest sakes are brought together in one location where they demonstrate the unique flavors of their finest brews, the very essence of Japan’s climate and culture distilled into potable form. This year promises to be no different.

21 of Kyushu’s brewers and 17 of the rest of Japan’s will be making an appearance in front of Hakata Station together with finest sakes, wines, and beers. At the 2024 Kyushu Sakagura Biraki, event-only, seasonal, and store specific brands will be among the drinks you can try!

Additionally, a wide variety of events and collaborative projects are being planned as part of the designated Hanazake Month!

This year’s event was specially conceived of as combining the dual traditions of flower viewing and dining at yatai, as well as emphasizing the love Fukuokans have for both food and nature.  For this reason, the event has been planned in tandem together in collaboration with the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival and the yatai food stalls of the Nagahama neighborhood, as well as many other concurrent activities citywide!

This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy both the blossoming flowers and the (metaphorical) fruits of the brewers’ hard work. We hope you will enjoy the best of what Fukuoka and Japan have to offer!
