Taste 28 different varieties of gyoza at this event featuring types from all across Japan!

The cities of Utsunomiya and Miyazaki host a rich culture of gyoza making. With gyoza running the gamut from those popular with ladies, punchy gyoza, and avant-garde gyoza prepared by meat shops, gyoza are a highly versatile food item whose popularity continues to grow. This year’s Fukuoka Gyoza Fest line-up is suitably spectacular! 

For 11 days from April 26th (Friday) until May 6th (Monday/Holiday), Gyoza Fest 2024 will set up shop in Fukuoka’s Maizuru Park, where they will showcase the possibilities and delicious flavors of the delicious fried parcel. This marks the first time this event will be held in Fukuoka, and it will feature 16 different gyoza and fried rice stalls as well as 6 refreshment and dessert booths. From Hokkaido in the north to Miyazaki on our Kyushu, there are going to be 28 unique varieties of craft gyoza available for your eating pleasure.

The various gyoza-makers coming here all developed recipes that showcase different aspects of the dumpling. From preparation methods including grilling, steaming, boiling, and deep frying to the wrappings, fillings, and sauces, there is surely no shortage of novelty here. Fillings are not limited solely to pork, but also include beef, chicken, shrimp, and veggie varieties. With all of these fillings and methods of preparation there will be something to enjoy for everybody!
