The [Art Fair Asia Fukuoka] has been held in the city since 2015, and it holds the distinct honor of being the only art fair in the world to have Asia as its main guiding concept. The fair is brimming with the charm and vibrancy of Asian art. 

As Fukuoka has long fulfilled the function of being Japan’s historical and geographical gateway to Asia, the city elected to establish this art fair with the theme of “creating an art market that can bridge Japan and Asia”. In line with this aim, the art fair provides the future major artists in Asia a chance to introduce themselves to the art world, a chance for Japan to broadcast the appeal of the country’s art, a means of strengthening the Asian art market, and in doing so to turn this art affair into one with global pull.  

Art Fair Asia Fukuoka (AFAF), which has grown into an art hub in Asia, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025.

The memorable AFAF2025 will be the culmination of all these efforts and will be the largest-ever event. Once again, the passion and creativity of Asia will come together in Fukuoka.
