Feel the passion of classical masterpieces conducted by Ken’ichiro Kobayashi, the flaming maestro! A feast of magnificent music is coming to Fukuoka! 

World renowned conductor of classical music Ken’ichiro Kobayashi will take to the stage together with the Kyushu Symphonic Orchestra to deliver a night of magnificent music to all! With young and increasingly recognized talent Kana Okada on piano, the group will be performing a mouthwatering line-up of pieces—Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Maurice Ravel’s Boléro, and Ludvig von Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. 

The ACROS Building Symphony Hall is the main headquarters of the Kyushu Symphonic Orchestra, and artists from around the world gather to play at this cultural center of Fukuoka regularly. You will be able to enjoy the dulcet sounds and tones of these pieces from within a music hall known worldwide for its highly-rated acoustic qualities.

The artists

Ken’ichiro Kobayashi (Conductor)
Affectionately referred to as the Flaming Maestro, his fiery performances capture the minds and hearts of listeners. He has performed with the Hungarian International Philharmonic and Czech Philharmonic before. 

Kana Okada (Piano)
A finalist at the Queen Elizabeth International Music Concours. Playing with an accomplished finesse and remarkable power, she has been attracting much attention in Europe for her performances.

Satoshi Asaoka (MC)
Popular as a narrator who conveys the appeal of classical music in an easy-to-understand manner. With his directions even beginners can easily appreciate and deepen their understanding and familiarity with the music.

Kyushu Symphony Orchestra
Based in Fukuoka City, it is the only professional orchestra in Kyushu that is a full member of the Japan Orchestra Federation, a public interest incorporated association, and is a leading force in the Kyushu music scene.
