A Five-Day Special Marketplace in Front of Hakata Station!

From April 17th (Wednesday) until April 21st (Sunday), a special marketplace will be hosted at the JR Kyushu Hakata Station Square!

This time the theme of the market is “a place where guests can encounter the food and culture of Kyushu”, hence the name of Kyushu Lovers Market.

With Hakata Station being the doorway to the rest of Kyushu, the marketplace in will feature 35 stores from across Kyushu for each of the five days of the event’s duration. Most excitingly, many of this year’s participants are appearing at the market for the first time!

Local food made with ingredients from Kyushu

Including specialties like bite-sized steak bites made from game hunted in Itoshima, sausages and hotdogs made without additives using meat from Kyushu, and plenty of other freshly made and cooked goodies!

Adult-approved desserts and craft drinks and cocktails

Features soft serve ice cream including some made with amaou strawberries and goat milk! Craft beers from various regions and fresh lemonade will also be available for drinking. 

Farmers and their fresh produce and seasonal specialties

Spring vegetables such as asparagus and bamboo shoots, freshly picked strawberries, and recently plucked and arranged Japanese flower arrangements are all planned to appear! This and much more from local producers in the Kyushu area!

That’s not all! This year there is some special entertainment planned!

In addition to all of these delicious foods there will also be representatives of culture from around Kyushu, Local live performing artists and “live painters” are all must-sees!
