WeBase operates accommodation facilities nationwide and has expanded to five locations in the last eight years. At each location stands a giant cat statue called SHIP'S CAT. These sculptures, which are public pieces of art created by one of Japan's leading contemporary artists Mr. Yanobe, symbolize our journey and growth. WeBase has continued and will continue to evolve alongside SHIP'S CAT.
As Mr. Yanobe says, life is like a journey. Given that we live in a world where the future is difficult to predict, we are excited to host an online photo contest featuring SHIP'S CAT. The contest invites participants to come together and envision a brighter and more hopeful future. The theme of the photo contest is "Hope." As a token of our gratitude, WeBase will present the winners with a unique "trip" that only WeBase can offer.

How to participate
There are the three easy steps to participate. You can submit up to 10 photos.
Step1
Follow the official Instagram account of the accommodations you want to visit or support. Click here for designated accommodations. *You can follow multiple accounts.

Step2
Take a photo with SHIP'S CAT in it (you may also use a photo taken before the campaign period, provided it was taken by the applicants themselves. Videos are not eligible).

Step3
Application hashtag: #WeBase_SHIPSCAT2024 Share the photo on your account, and mention the account you followed in step 1. Include the hashtag and title of the work, and add your reflections on a bright and hopeful future.
(Adding tags to past Instagram posts may not be recognized as submission entries. Please make a new post for the submission. (Using photos taken in the past is acceptable.)
