Tenjin/Yakuin Area | Nature & Outdoors,Other,Night Time2025 Pre-Event for the Fukuoka Flower Show to be Held Next Year! From March 23rd~27th at the Fukuoka City Botanical Garden!
Dates:23 Mar 2025 - 27 Mar 2025
The Fukuoka Flower Show promises to showcase Fukuoka as a city overflowing with greenery and flowers.
The “One Person, One Flower” initiative is one of Fukuoka’s main attempts to help create a more livable urban environment. To help showcase and realize this vision, Fukuoka will be holding the Fukuoka Flower Show next year in 2026.
As a prequel to the main event next year, this year from March 23rd until March 27th there will be a pre-event in which gardeners from both Japan and abroad will grace the Fukuoka City Botanical Garden and demonstrate their considerable skills!
Upon entering the General Area of the venue after paying the Zoo and Botanical Garden Entry Fee (hereafter referred to as the entry fee), the park will be subdivided further into a Special Area each that requires a separate ticket to enter. In this Special Area a new type of garden that can be enjoyed all year round will make its long awaited appearance! Further, as one of the cities with the highest rates of apartment-based living, there will be a special section devoted to hobby gardening featuring plenty of veranda-friendly model gardens. Additionally, the winner of the 2023 Chelsea Flower Show, the Blackjack Agapanthus, will be making its appearance in Japan for the first time in an event positively brimming with highlights!
Above all else, the most eye-catching of the main events will be the Garden Contest. With advice and guidance from famed gardeners like Keiko Yoshiya, Amano Marie, and Leon Kluge, the competing gardens will be featured in 10m x 6m lots. Visitors will be able to enter these gardens and immerse themselves in these magical floral vistas.
In the General Area, guests will be able to gaze upon an enormous debut installation made by Fukuoka born artist Makoto Kagoshima, who has worked in places such as Los Angeles, Taipei, and London.
For the duration of the pre-event, lifestyle shops and several restaurants and cafes representing Fukuoka’s culinary culture will be opening as well. We hope that you will enjoy these special five days at the Fukuoka City Botanical Garden!
