This fantastic light up of the castle keep will make its appearance together with the yearly Sakura bloom illuminations in Fukuoka Castle!

This unique light up will bring you back 400 years in time
For a limited time, the Castle of Illusions will make its appearance in Fukuoka Castle!

Fukuoka Castle is a famous nationally designated historical ruin. 
While turrets, gates, and stone hedges still dot the area, the once-famous central castle keep is no longer with us, and all that remains of it is the large stone pedestal that it once stood upon. 

Now, after 400 years, the original castle keep will once again grace us with its presence!

The Castle of Illusions is scheduled to appear at the same time as the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival

The tower is scheduled to make its appearance together with the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival, which takes place during the Sakura bloom. This year marks the special appearance of the fantastic castle which is sure to make this year’s event an unforgettable one! 

This event is a collaboration between the Castle of Illusions and the vivid Sakura bloom of Maizuru Park. Tradition and technology will come together in this synthesis of Fukuoka’s past and future. 

NOTICE

・Regarding entry restrictions to the Castle Tower Pedestal
Due to the nature of the installation, in order to ensure the safety of visitors to Maizuru Park and especially the Honmaru Square, entrance to the Fukuoka Castle Tower Pedestal will be prohibited from February 19th, 2024 (Monday) until June 17th, 2024 (tentative). This goes for the period during which the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival is scheduled to take place.

・Regarding the duration of the Castle of Illusions light-up
Because the light-up is scheduled to take place during the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival, please consult the festival schedule, as the Castle of Illusions light up will begin at the same time as the Sakura festival. Note: as the exact date of the first bloom is not known, please make sure to check online for updates.
