A flowery festival heralding spring: The Uminonakamichi Flower Picnic!
Featuring a sea of dainty blue nemophilas and plenty of other flowers!
This year will mark the 39th installment of the classic springtime festival, “The Uminonakamichi Flower Picnic 2026”.
Besides the popular sea of one million blue nemophila flowers this festival is filled with plenty of springtime beauties, with vitamin colored Iceland poppies and an array of different colors of tulip just some of the other flowers you will encounter in the park.
Throughout the duration of the festival there will also be various sub-events, so keep your eyes peeled for those as well!

●Daffodils
Take a deep breath and soak in the sweet, refreshing scent of the flowerbed!
Best viewing period: Through late March

●Cherry Blossoms
A springtime harmony created by the nemophila on Flower Hill and the rapeseed flowers along the cycling course.
Best viewing period: Late March to early April
Location: Various spots throughout the park, including around Flower Hill and along the cycling course
Number of trees: 1,600
●Tulips
Colorful tulips adorn the banks of the pond.
Best viewing period: Late March to mid-April
Location: Rainbow Flower Bed
Scale: 42 varieties, approximately 33,000 bulbs (830 m²)
●Icelandic Poppy
These vibrant orange, white, and yellow flowers give off a subtle fragrance.
Best viewing period: Late March to mid-April
Location: Colorful Flower Bed
Number of plants: Approximately 23,000
●Nemophila
A vast field of blue flowers. In early April, you can enjoy a beautiful blend of pink and blue alongside the cherry blossoms.

Scale: 1 million plants (10,000 m²)
●Roses
A soothing space enveloped in the fragrance of countless roses.
Best viewing period: Early to late May
Location: Rose Garden
Scale: 220 varieties, 1,800 plants (4,000 m²)
●Allium Gigantium
Its purple, pom-pom-like, perfectly round flowers are charming.
Best viewing period: Mid-May to late May

Scale: 1,250 plants
●Flower Museum
“An open-air flower museum.” Features include plant displays where you can enjoy combinations of five different flower colors.

●Perennial Garden
A naturalistic garden centered on perennials where you can enjoy the changing seasons.

Scale: Perennials, grasses, and bulbs—127 varieties in total, approx. 300 m²
●Flower Garden Competition
We are accepting design submissions from companies and organizations involved in landscaping and gardening, and will display the five flower beds selected by the judges.
Best Viewing Period: March 20 (Friday, National Holiday) – May 17 (Sunday)

●Flower Clock Flower Bed
This flower bed was created by students from the Garden Design Course at Nishi-Nippon Junior College.
Best Viewing Period: Mid-March – Mid-May

- Adults (15 years old): 450 yen
- Seniors (65 years old): 210 yen
- Middle school and younger: free
*Group fee: (With 20 individuals who are over elementary school age): 290 yen
