“Walk Walk Hakata” makes its return from last year!

This event is all about developing a first-hand appreciation for Hakata and its culture, history, and cuisine. Tourists and locals alike are encouraged to see what makes this city special by walking through the neighborhoods that give Fukuoka its warm and genial reputation.

Walking these streets provides an insight into the inner-workings of the city like little else. From September 29th (Sunday) until November 4th (Monday・Holiday) a variety of additional programs are planned as well. Whether you are going for your weekend outing or want something to do after work, we hope you will pay the area a visit! 

Hakata Riddle Rally! (Quiz Rally)
Who knew walking could be so educational? Who knew that learning new things could be so much fun? 

Throughout the duration of the event a quiz rally will be held throughout Hakata, where you will learn about th

e culture, traditions, and fascinating history of the area. There are a total of 5 quiz spots and if you manage to solve all 5, you’ll receive an event original hand-towel. (Limited to 1000 items).

[Locations] “Hakata Machiya” Furusatokan, Touchoji Temple, Joutenji Temple, Sumiyoshi Shrine, Kushida Shrine

How to participate
①    Receive a small paper slip to fill in your answer from the five above listed locations. 
②    Answer the questions as you explore each of the spots.
③    Bring your completed answer sheet to the “Hakata Machiya” Furusatokan building exhibition hall and receive your prize!

[The Hakata Hotspot Hop] Visit Participating Stores and Enjoy the Flavor of Hakata!
The Hakata area is practically overflowing with delicious local eateries. 
Those interested in enjoying the flavor of several stores at once can now do so with this “Hakata Hop Ticket”. 800 sets of 4 tickets worth 600 yen each. By using a ticket you can order special items at these restaurants created specifically for the occasion. Why not go pay two or three restaurants a visit after work, on your day off, or with friends and family?

*Note: that restaurant hours depend on each establishment, so please confirm in advance if you plan on going.
[Location] Participating stores in the Reisen Park and Kushida Shrine area.
[Ticket exchange・Vendor hours] From 17:00 ~ 21:00 (Every day except 10/6)
*Tickets pre-ordered online can be picked up in front of the “Hakata Machiya” Furusatokan building. (During the event, tickets will also be sold in front of the building as well).
*Those who pre-order their tickets will receive a complimentary sticker. 
*Event will run while supplies last. Once the tickets are used up the event ends.
