Runner registration for the Fukuoka Marathon 2026 (scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026) will open on Monday, April 20. 

Celebrating its 13th anniversary, the Fukuoka Marathon has enjoyed popularity among runners from both Japan and abroad. The event is one of the largest in the Kyushu region, attracting 13,000 participants.  

The race starts at the Tenjin district, the vibrant heart of Fukuoka City with excellent transportation links, and finishes in Itoshima, a scenic area known for its stunning coastline and mountains, beloved by both domestic and international visitors.

As runners pass through the changing scenery from the urban landscape to the rich natural environment, they are sure to be engaged and energized throughout their journey. 

Given the event’s high popularity, entrants are selected by lottery. However, the first 500 overseas applicants are guaranteed a spot without going through this process.

*Please note that overseas applicants who are not among the first 500 are subject to the selection process.
