In this special tour, guests will explore the island of Shikanoshima in Fukuoka’s Higashi ward and Iki in Nagasaki by bicycle over the course of two days and one night. 

On the first day the participants will take a ferry from Hakata Port to the island of Iki located in Nagasaki. Upon arriving, guests will then embark on a cycling tour of the island, enjoying the lush nature and terrific scenery of the island together with the sea breeze as they pedal. The evening will then bring them to the famous Yumoto Onsen, where the tantalizing delicacies from the surrounding waters and mountains await them.

On the second day, participants will return to Shikanoshima Island in Fukuoka where they will cycle past numerous historical sites and quaint fishing villages. Among the activities that await guests are a purification ceremony at the main shrine of the seas, Shikaumi shrine, and even the chance to make their own seafood rice bowl using freshly caught fish from nearby.

Day 1 – March 15th (Saturday)

10:30 – Ride the Jetfoil ship departing from Hakata
11:35 – Arrive at Ashibe Port on Iki
12:15 – Cycling begins 
13:00 – Lunch at mori no cafe@ten 
15:00 – Explore Iruka Park, restroom break
15:40 – Pay a visit to ISLAND BREWERY
17:00 – Visit Saruiwa (The monkey rock)
17:40 – Finish bike tour for the day at Hirayama Ryokan, Check-in
19:30 – Dinner and spend the night at Hirayama Ryokan

Day 2 – March 16th (Sunday)

8:30 – Depart Hirayama Ryokan via shuttle bus
9:25 – Ride the Jetfoil from Go-no-Ura Port
10:35 – Arrive at Hakata Port. Transfer to Fukuoka Municipal Ferry
10:40 – Depart Hakata Port by ferry
10:55 – Arrive at Saitozaki Port
11:10 – Cycling tour begins
11:40 – Tour of Shikaumi Shrine
12:15 – Stop by the Golden Seal Park
12:35 – Visit SHOPHiro and enjoy fresh Turban Shells 
13:15 – Misogi purification at Gebagahama Beach 
13:45 – Relax at Kyukamura on Shikanoshima (bathing included)
15:00 – Enjoy seafood rice bowl at the Shikanoshima Public Hall
16:50 – Depart from Shikanoshima by ferry
17:20 – Arrive at Hakata Port
17:30 – Disband

Cost: 59,000 Yen (Tax included), This is the cost including the night for two people in one hotel room. Also factors in the cost of bike rental from KONA BICYCLES.

Other

Included in the tour cost: Round-trip boat ride from Fukuoka to Iki, cycling guide, lodging (2 meals per night), meals (2 lunches), misogi/purification experience fee, refreshments, support vehicle (to carry luggage), and insurance.

Items not included in the tour cost: round-trip transportation from where you are staying to the meeting point and from the disbanding point back, meals and beverages not included in the itinerary, and the bath tax of 150 yen.

Please note that if there are many participants, you may be asked to share a room with other participants. 22,000 yen will be charged for single occupancy. (Please note that the additional charge varies depending on the room.)

*Please note that it is not possible to participate with your own bicycle. Please use the rental bicycles provided. The office will provide transportation of bicycles from Fukuoka to Iki and back.
