A family-friendly nighttime market for all to enjoy! Enjoy the park at night!

A nighttime market will be held at Maizuru Park in the center of the city on a Saturday right in the middle of Japan’s summer vacation. This event is perfect for families, and many come with children to enjoy the activities. This year the event will be held from 16:00 until 20:00, so let’s get festive and enjoy! 

［What is there to do?］

As the event will be held at night, there will be specially set up light installations to brighten the venue, creating a vivid market atmosphere. Roughly 30 different stalls will also come to the event including vendors of fresh vegetable and homemade sweets, as well as kitchen cars selling a wide variety of delicious treats. Little insect lotteries and a game corner bring a lively fair-like energy, Workshops, fairs, and other activities ensure there’s something here for everyone!

［Stall line-up］

As stated, approximately 30 stalls will turn up to the market selling farm-grown vegetables, homemade candy, and food truck cuisine. Things good for both people and the planet is the guiding theme behind both the stalls and the activities on offer. 

・Produce: fresh veggies and fruits
・Candy, small sides: rice flour donuts, Okinawan sweets, small sides using pork from Itoshima
・Processed or prepared goods: roasted coffee beans, homemade dog treats
・Kitchen cars: cheese steak sandwiches, Vietnamese food, crepes, etc.

［Activities・Workshops］

・Insect lottery (if you’re lucky you might get a Hercules beetle!)
・Killifish fishing, shooting gallery, bouncy ball scooping
・Slime bracelet making
・Relaxing yoga exercise activity
・Glowing beach ball and ring tossing (free)
