This shrine is dedicated to three gods of sea. The surrounding area used to belong to an ancient powerful clan who governed marine tribes. As you can read today in the poem inscribed on the stone monument on the shrine site, the shrine has long been worshipped as a guardian of the sea. The shrine houses an ancient Korean bell, national important property, a casting mold of copper blade, prefectural important property and a Buddhist stone monument on the shrine site is also designated as prefectural important property. Three festivals that are held at this shrine are prefectural intangible properties.
