Authentic Californian Style Barbecue at California B.B.Q Beach

Located roughly 30 minutes away by car, the California B.B.Q Beach can be found in Imajuku, which is found in Fukuoka’s west ward. Imajuku is home to a long coastline, and on the end of it of this vast area of over you will be greeted with a 3,860 m2　area that looks as if you’ve come to the Californian coastline. In addition, the area of course has spots where you can enjoy the sun but also features air conditioned camper cars and other facilities.

Outside of beverages, all the equipment and ingredients you need will be organized at your assigned grill allowing you to get cooking as soon as you arrive. As for the grill itself, here they use the WEBER smoke pit type, adding to the authenticity of the grilling experience here. It goes without saying that the meat is excellent but when taken together with the unique scenery and atmosphere, this place has all the makings of an excellent barbecue spot.

Travelling to Nokonoshima (Noko Island) requires that you take a ferry from the Meinohama ferry port located in Fukuoka’s west ward. After a roughly 10 minute ferry ride to your destination you will make your way to the northern end of the island, and here you will find the Nokonoshima Island Park. Here you will find a barbecue house overlooking a breathtaking 10,000 m2 panoramic vista of flowers. Not only is there an indoor seating space, there is also an outdoor terrace where you can gaze out onto the flowery plain, framed by the boundless blue of sky and sea. As an added bonus, the barbecue space adjoins the restaurant “Boujin” (防人) who can prepare a children’s lunch set, making the space convenient for those who bring children.
