Nagashi somen, or flowing noodles, refer to noodles that are sent down a bamboo flume that diners grab with their chopsticks as they flow by. This year, the popular Somen Hut will be returning to Bayside Place Hakata to bring the summer vibes! Try the hand-pulled somen made by the 300-year veterans at Miwa Yamamoto and enjoy the nagashi somen all while gazing out over Hakata Bay.

Miwa Yamamoto has an over 300-year noodle making history, and the broth that they use is equally unique and special. Agodashi is a type of dashi broth that is made with flying fish, and it often features in Kyushu recipes. This beloved local flavor is also refreshing, light, and elegant on account of the fish’s low-fat content. An accent of black sugar adds depth to the broth as well. The sodium content in this broth has been cut by 7% and features no artificial flavorings, colorings, preservatives, or additives- perfect for those trying to live healthily!
